2.8/20 prime - slim polariser required?

Hello Everyone,

A simple question really - do I need a slim polariser for the 2.8/20mm NX prime?

Thank you,

Peter

I'm not sure if you need a slim polariser if you only use the filter; what I do is use a step up ring and then mount 52mm filters, and I've had no issues. NB: I don't have the 20mm, but do this on the 16mm and 30mm.

I've done that to on DSLR but it defeats the purpose of going mirrorless - reducing size and weight.

It's certainly possible, but I believe that the question was whether there would be significant vignetting when using non-slim filters.

I'm also interested in an answer, as it would be quite handy to use a single filter with 16-50, 16 (unlikely), 20, 30 and 45 (Though I would not carry all of them at once...)!

No.

Never had any problems with the 20mm and any non-slim filters. It will even fit the lens hood from the 45mm lens without vignetting.

Not from what I see. Hood from 45mm fits 30mm but causes vigneting on 20mm. I shot raw and reviewed in faststone to confirm this findings.

Yeah cause 52mm filters are huge. 52 is a much more common filter size, you can get them cheaper and more easily. Also easier to handle (put on with gloves etc). 52mm filters will also fit the NX60mm as well of course.
