Cropping in CS6

okay, I know it's probably something simple, but here's the problem-

When I use square marquee to make a selection, I can choose Edit- Crop and it's fine. (It crops the selection)

When I use square marquee and then right-click inside it- Transform selection- then Rotate that selection, NOW when I select Edit-Crop, it doesn't crop that rotated selection.  It crops a rectangle larger than the selection, and just big enough to contain the selection. I'm pretty sure CS5 didn't do this, it always cropped the selection no matter if it was rotated.

Thoughts?

Maybe first crop it and then before the selection gone do layer via cut or layer via copy. You'll get a layer with rotated crop. If that's what you want.

Re: Cropping in CS6

I may have to just learn to use Ruler tool- straighten layer- then Crop from there...

Re: Cropping in CS6

From your description I thought you wanted a rotated crop. Apparently you wanted a straighten image.

Crop first and then rotate the crop?

I think I need to start using the crop tool in 'unconstrained' mode rather than the marquee tool.  It just seems odd to me to have a selection drawn out, and Edit- Crop won't crop that selection automatically.
