Re: Adam - two things here...

I paid 199,-€ effectively as part of the bundle with the as well discounted NX30 body. The screenshot showing is the regular price of 349,- if you go solo with the PZ now today

I just want to indicate that that ebay offer for a lens that potentially is without warrently is not really a great deal

Adrian,

that is roughly the price I paid when ordering it bundled with the NX30 body at that dealers website.

I assume that after some time (and enough NX3000 on the market) the price will drop to that level easily

Cheers, Tjobbe

Wow Tjobbe, some deal. I'd assumed your previous post showed €349 just for the lens?

Adrian 😀

correct, that is the official price that any dealer is supposed to charge initially (being the SRP) but I assume it will drop down as soon as the volumes go up and the NX3000 is avail in larger qty

It shouldn't be much more expensive than its Sony counterpart. €349 is too much in my opinion.

Ah got you.  Unfortunately I already have the NX30 so would only be interested in the lens on its own

Re: Anybody see the Samsung 16-50mm f/3.5-5.6 Power Zoom ED OIS Lens yet?

I saw it listed for a crazy price (480 PLN which is ~115 EUR) in a licensed repair centre. However, it disappeared from listing after few hours, they told me that they won't be able to sell lenses anymore because Samsung issued a cease & desist note and cancelled all lens shipments.

FYI - Few repair centres in Poland are known (or rather were known, given the latest news) for selling brand new lenses for 30%-50% of their usual street price from time to time. The only drawback is that you get just lens and both caps, without the original box, stand, faux leather pouch, lens hood etc. and 3- or 6-month seller warranty instead of the Samsung international one. The lenses sold by repair centres were rumoured to be of inferior quality, which wasn't confirmed by testing (as seen on optyczne.pl / lenstip.com review of 30mm f/2.0 lens).

It does make you wonder if some factory rejects are somehow getting lost on their way to the skip.

Edit: The sad things are for most of us not trying to identify the molecules in the far corners of the image these lens are probably OK at the price.

a rumor is not conclusive fact. I mean if you broke your OEM lens, does this  mean your replacement lens is inferior?

I don't think so. Most likely, these are the ones which you receive in replacement under warranty terms.  I still think it's safer to buy such "el cheapos" than used ones.

Lenstip.com used such low-priced copy for their testing of 20mm f/2.8 (http://www.lenstip.com/362.1-Lens_review-Samsung_NX_20_mm_f_2.8-Introduction.html) and they didn't find any obvious problems such as decentering.

Ouch. That would work as a tactic as I expect people give up after one warranty return. I always admire the stoicism of these people who say they returned 15 copies of a lens before they got a good one.
