E-PM2 and manual focus

I used to have an Oly M4/3 and loved the look I got from a toy tv lens that I had for it, but it was of course manual focus and you had to zoom in to focus, which was a pain but I got used to it.  I traded it off and decided I missed it for hiking and bought a EPM2 and the same lens but don't seem to be able to over ride the automatic zoom for manual focus and since it doesn't recognize the lens it won't activate the zoom.  Is there a way to do it?

Re: E-PM2 and manual focus

One way is to use the touch screen.  Set the screen so that a touch selects the focus point.

Then, when you tap the screen a green box appears at the focus point.  Also, there will be a magnifying glass icon at the bottom right corner of the screen.   Tap that to magnify the view.

Use the control dial to zoom in and out.  Use the OK button in the center of the control dial to zoom back out.

You can also program a button to activate the zoom.  That will take some menu diving.  I haven't tried that yet, but probably will soon as I have just ordered a viewfinder.

Re: E-PM2 and manual focus

AWESOME!!! The old magnifying glass in the bottom right corner trick, why didn't I think of that!  I could get the box to appear and figured there was a way to zoom in from there but never did see that.  Thanks a bunch.  Attached is the picture of my son from before, love the look and the Oly colors just pop.
