considering getting Olympus SP-100ee

I want a camera that handles sports, and wild life photography. I do have couple of mirrorless cameras for my blog pictures, but realized that superzoom is what I need for outside, and thought about RX10 bit while but the price is not fit on my budget. However, Olympus SP-100ee seems to have perfect features that I need and indeed a new technology called dot sight might be useful. Does anyone has some kind of sample shots that I can look at it? thx.

Olympus Stylus SP-100 Sony Cyber-shot DSC-RX10

Hi,

I did compare a few superzoom and the Olympus did quite well. It perhaps want quite as good as the Nikon p600 or canon sx50 for image quality. They tended to be less noisy and revealed a little more detail.

Cheers

Steve.

For sports, don't feel bad about the RX10 being out of your budget.   The single shot autofocus on it is too slow for sports.    My Olympus EPL-5 has much faster autofocus than my RX10.

Re: considering getting Olympus SP-100ee

I did not like the heavy handed way the background trees in some posted samples from the SP100EE were cleaned up.

I have ordered a Fuji HS50EXR which has PDAF on the sensor which should help focusing speed provided light is good. Probably not everyone's choice of camera but the slow focusing on my Canon SX40 makes me wary of the SX50 even though it is apparently improved. Canon are not exactly renowned as the kings of CDAF.
