EPM2 touch screen?

What can you actually do with the touch screen on the EPM2? Can you change settings etc.?

You can select settings (from Super Control Panel, Live Guide, whatever you are using) and then change them with the dial.  You can set the focus point, or set the focus point and shoot at the same time.  In review, you can scroll through your images and zoom in or out.

Probably other things as well, but those are the ones that come to mind.

Not much interest if you don't have the latest.

I just ordered one for the $199.99 sale price, it should arrive tomorrow. I have been looking over the user manual that I downloaded from Olympus, but am hesitant to say anything until I hold it in my hands and can verify I understand what I read....check back next weekend and I'll report my findings....

Crazy price

That's bound to attract a lot of buyers, who want to test the µ4/3 waters.

I started with the E-PL5, for its added functionality (tilt screen and more dials and buttons) — but if that price had been around at the time, I would have gone for the PM2 instead.

Be sure to get the Super Control Panel going. It's a convoluted process to get it on, but the SCP is SO valuable to operating the camera via the touch screen.

Guy Parsons has gone through a ton of work to step-by-step the process. It's a LOT clearer than the Oly instructions.

Once turned on, the SCP stays available via the OK button.

Specific to the SCP: http://homepages.ihug.com.au/~parsog/olyepl1/53-epl5-scp.html

You can select and change some settings but it is not as good as Panny's implementation.

Another problem is the screen is always facing out so it is very easy to change settings while carrying the camera. My Panny G5 allows me to turn the screen facing in.

When the screen is "ON" there is an icon that allows you to select OFF, ON or Touch Shutter. Problem is that it is still easily changed and, therefore, other things as well.

On my EPL5, I have the touch screen turned OFF. In normal daily use, it is not worth the hassle.
