Re: American Woodcock-Bald Eagle and Tree Swallow

congrats on the woodcock Dharma.

It's unusual to see a shore bird in amongst the undergrowth. you did well to get those shots

Re: Sparrows

I like these shots a lot Hans. ZD300 x 2 is not an easy combo (at least for me) to use.
I'm rather fond of the humble little house sparrow.

Spotted Eagle Owl

Spotted Eagle Owl in our garden. In mid-2013 there were three living here, but they disappeared on December and last week the youngest returned.

A "Noisy Miner" a native honey eater  .This bird is very noisy and very savage. It will by itself or in groups attack other birds in attempt to steal food

Re: The Sunday BIRD Volume 9 Issue 43 April 20, 2014

Sorry Charles ,wrong "Baxter" .I have never seen these birds but know that they move very fast. I would think this would make them very difficult to photograph without using flash ,is this correct ?

Re: I guess, it's a Merlin

Hi Gintaras,

I'm impressed with all three shots.  I saw my first merlin a couple of weeks ago and got a couple of poor shots because it was just too far away.  These are great--congratulations.

Hi Jolene,

Thanks again for the lense I got from you. If not you, I might never took these photos. Can't stop enjoying that Sigma, just need to get used to the weight.

And thanks to all, who looked at and liked photos.
