Is everyone's D4/ D4s vertical sub-command dial so shallow?

It's my first pro-body and have only just realized that using the vertical

sub-command dial in the heat of the moment can prove difficult.  It's very shallow.  Is your body the same?  Accessory battery grip dial on D800 bodies is better in my opinion.

Only have D3 but have just had a look and it is the same so I guess it's likely to be the same for all models.  Have never even thought about it and it has always seemed 'perfect' to me.  I do have small hands.

Thank you stowei.  I have large hands and fingers.  I need to develop a callous on my forefinger to grip it more effectively.

Yes, my D4 & D4s both look the same.
