Handheld Astrophotography With SX 50

Took these last night after the clouds cleared. Handheld no tripod With SX 50

Moon ISO 80 Shutter 50/100

Saturn ISO 80 Shutter 20/100

Jupiter & It's Moons ISO 80 Shutter 40/100. Processed to show proper expose of  planet with moons.

All excellent shots. Did you photograph the moon in raw format? Thank you for sharing what this amazing camera is capable of.

These were not shot RAW.  I use C1 where I have everything programmed into that.   I use C1 for

moon shots and planets, Nightmode for stars, TV mode with shutter set for 500/100 for action shots

Auto mode for indoor low light shots.  Works GREAT!

When I do use the tripod ,this is what I use. It is a old wood tripod with a Celestron Go-To head on it.

You can buy these on Ebay for under 60.00 dollars. Just select the object say Saturn from the menu

and it will point the camera at it. I use my telescope on it also. It uses a Vixen style dovetail. Has over

4000 objects programmed into it.
