Buying the D610 need lens advice.
The D610 has water & dust sealing so which primes are also weather sealed? Is the 24-85 vr worth buying at $400 more? I'm leaning towards the 85 1.8G and the 60mm f/2.8 AFS. The latter will be great for landscapes and the 85 1.8 for portraits. According to most reviews the 24-85vr has an awful lot of distortion. Please post samle shots taken with the 24-85.
I'm not positive, but I think the "G" lenses are weather sealed. However, don't think the D610 is weatherproof. At best it is weather resistant. If you shoot in the rain, rubber band a plastic bag to the lens hood, or buy a purpose built rain cover.
"Get your facts first, then you can distort them as you please."
Good advice Robin. I have the 85 1.8G and it's great on the D610. I also have the Sigma 35mm f1.4 Art lens. I opted not to get the 24-85mm because it's slower & uses a smaller (72mm) filter thread.
