Re: Nikon gives D600 users 'a new D600 or an equivalent model'

So is it a good time to buy a cheaper D600 brand new instead of the D610?

Actually, they changed nothing w.r.t. the original note...

That's because the rain in Spain stays mainly in the plain.

As hard as I tried, can't do it

Recieved mine back a couple of weeks ago from shutter replacement. Read this and decided I better check for more granular black spots. Unfortunately only one. Rocketed it off and machined gunned three hundred shots through it. With hope, I checked it again. Not a spot. Oh well, no new camera for me. Seriously though, I am glad Nikons shutter replacement worked for me, and I am glad those who need it will get their bodies replaced.

This should have happened a year ago, but maybe, just maybe, Nikon is learning some valuable marketing lessons. Just wish they didn't have to learn it at the end of a 2x4.

Here's the one for UK

While my D600 is still not affected that much (have a few spots that hasn't bothered me yet) , it is good news for D600 users who have been facing serious dust / debris problems.

Finally Nikon doing the right thing.

Can you imagine how pretty nikon could be sitting if they offered this out the gun when the issue was first raised. Let this be another case study of PR gone bad

It's great that they are finally looking to implement some sort of measure to fix this problem with finality- unfortunately it's taken them this long, and been this injurious to their reputation.

Mine's clean post ~500 shots and that's the last I checked. Honestly, if it was and stays fixed, it's pretty much like a brand new new camera. New shutter, shiny and clean inside and out- to me that's brand new.
