Panic stations

I't s been a long time since I had a DSLR having had point and shoot for many years so I had a fit of the vapours today when all my photos with my K5 mk2 and 18-135 combo were completely washed out and colourless. Then I found out why.

I usually shoot in P mode with the HDR function allocated to User 1 In turning the mode dial from one to the other I accidentally changed to spot metering without realising. So this afternoon I had another go.

Still learning about the camera but greatly enjoying it. One day I might even discover how to get to ISO 100, and find out why, even though I have the camera set to auto ISO, it never seems to change from 200 when in P mode.

You can see my second attempt here.

Sounds like you have highlight and/or shadow protection selected in the dynamic range menu setting. Disable these and you will get ISO100 again.

Re: ISO100

Steve,

I've done that and got it back. Many thanks for your help.
