Nikon F mount to nx300 adapter recommendations?
I have read back over the threads and noted some trouble with various adapters. I have a cheap feebay m42 to nx and it works wonderfully on my nx300.
I am wondering if anyone has a working nikon F mount to nx adapter on their nx and if so could they share the brand name? or hacks or fixes? or ones to avoid?
My DIL has a collection of nikon F mount lenses that she has offered to let me experiment with, and though I doubt I will continue with these lenses, the cost of a working adapter would be worth it to me as a learning process. (math, physics, optics, and all)
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
I'm using two different no name adapters I bought directly in China via ebay. One has an aperture ring for G type lenses, which is a rather loose fit at the Nikon end. This adapter has a Zebra like machined finish at the outside and a stainless steel Nikon mount. The other, unmarked black, with chromed steel (or brass) Nikon mount and without aperture ring, has a tight fit at both ends. Both are older than two years now, and the sellers don't exist anymore. Both are working fine with my NX10 and NX20. Both have no problems with infinity.
This will not be of much use to you, I think.
Of the 'established' brands, I have read so many different opinions about build quality, that with some bad luck you will get from all bad fitting samples, that will not actuate the lens detection switch in the NX mount or you may not reach infinity with your lens. If you are lucky, everything will be fine.
