Both shot hand held through the sliding glass door windows outside of the deck with my A77. This is why I love the 70-400........and clean glass doors!

A special thanks for all that detail which I have not yet digested.  If you Google "Tom Tame EFIAP" you will see some of my background but your knowledge and experience very obviously exceeds mine.

yakkosmurf: That is amazing

Could you perhaps tell us how you got the chance to photograph this? I'd give an arm and a leg for this kind of opportunity.

Also, I would have bought an A77 or A6000 for just this situation lol

11/12fps, broad daylight low ISO, extra reach from 24mp crop sensor. Sorry I am just a big sucker for space and anything remotely related to it.

This one for me mainly for the memories of a wonderful time in NZ:-

My favourite image OF a 70-400 is this:-

Wow, that is amazing to get that close.  I wish I could find a Snow Owl. They are beautiful creatures.

Thanks for sharing.

It was a fun time.  We're about 3/4 of a mile a way.  The photo is cropped to print in the aspect ratio I wanted.  24MP left me plenty of resolution for a good 24x36 print.

Not my lens but a borrowed one

I had mine almost 6 months and no pics, too cold.

There is a big story behind this plane image because I tracked it using "Flightradar" from when it started to take off the Auckland, N.Z. airport for a flight to Brisbane.  I knew that it would fly over my home as it approached Brisbane from the south and I knew from "Flightradar" the time it would pass over so I was ready with my A99 and 70 - 400 Song G silver lens.

Friendly looking guy. LOL  Nice and sharp, I like the background bokeh on the last image.

Great photos and thanks for sharing.

Re: busch: Brown bear

LOL! Thanks, William. It certainly isn't your cute little teddy bear although it appears to be a big version of it.
