SX280 SX270 users around?

Hi all,

I am looking for some iso 800, 1600 and 3200 shots from your sx280 or sx270. Please make sure that the photos your shared were correctly focused and you have a shutter speed that would not capture any blur in the shot. I am currently trying to understand how good the sensor performs, which I think it does a decent job.

Also some shots at the longest zoom range over a tripod might be fun to be shared here

Regards

Alex

I don't have an SX280/270 but I have an SX240. I usually don't shoot higher than ISO 400 but sometimes turning the ISO higher is the only way to get the shot:

Hi,

I appreciate for sharing those. I think cannon does a good job with the image quality for the size of the camera (sensor) and how large the zoom is.

How better would be a shot with a larger sensor that would be great for one to compare.. but I am not sure is possible to have such comparisons.

If more sx220,230,240,260,270,280 users please share your highest isos.

Here's two one at 1600 and one at 3200 from the SX260 with sharpness set to -1.

thanks a lot for the time you spent sharing..

First one looks okay... second one not too much.....

How did you set up sharpness to -1?

In My Colors setting, I also use contrast +1 to compensate for the Icontrast system tendency to reduce contrast so as to increase DR.  I only recently found that I could get much better results from the 260 by reducing in camera sharpness a little then increase it more later in PP, this had the effect of eliminating the sandy look that some reviewers have found on the 260 images.  I think this is where canon have been able to improve the image quality of the more recent models by improving the in camera NR which is incorporated into the sharpness setting.  i.e. more sharpness equals less NR and less sharpness equals more NR.
