That is gorgeous Dave. You need to blow it up and sell it. It should fetch a few bucks.

Re: Jerry..it's so freekin easy!

It is almost a one click operation with Virtual Painter 5.  Have both 4 and 5 the effects are slightly different.  I see there are free downloads on the net be careful of the the free stuff/tool bars you don't want, always loaded with junk other than the program. Most of the time you can bypass sthe stuff they want to install in your computer.   I do not know if it is a stand alone or just a plug in for image editing program.  You can adjust for intensity of some of the effects.  I generally use it in photoshop as a filter plugin and when using it, create a separate layer on the original background image.  This way I can change the opacity of the VP layer with effect to blend with the original layer underneath.  Just something you will have to determine for yourself.  Another great stand alone program is Fotosketcher and is totally free.  So my friend, now you know the secret of brotherhood fake painters and do not betray the trust we have placed in you!!!

Re: Help..I'm out of control!

Ummm....... Kinda colorful, Dave.

Sort of like this rendition of a "regular" picture of "Bobby Darin' Dream Car" I had just opened in an email before reading this.

Except for the wierd bodywork, the car & surroundings looked pretty normal before I did a 100% saturation increase in PSE8:

So, I figure that's te sort of thing you did. And better than my try.

Good 'eye' for a dramatic rendition !!

Good stuff !!

#1, 4 & 5 are standouts - really like the extra-slim moon.

Very nice set Karen. #1 looks really artsy. #3 is most interesting for the color isolation. All were nicely done.

Thanks a lot Jerry!  I have so much fun playing around with PS and other programs that do different treatments on photos.

I'm curious - why do you think I should post my weekly "thread-opening" shot separately? I notice that the "wildlife" thread is done that way.

I think it's because it's easier for people to realize you have a picture and it's not part of your signature, plus when people respond to your post it's directly below the post and doesn't go way down.

It's all in what the originator of the thread wants.

Well, the originator of the thread has to be willing to take advise, too.

I'll give it a shot, thanks

Drilling for oil ?

Hi.

Are they drilling for oil in center of Helsinki (Kamppi square).

No, I think they are checking the ground, taking samples,  because in this area is to be built an underground arts museum!

Hey Erik, you do what you feel is right, I was only just trying to give an explanation.  I had no problem with it.
