BETA 2 (included)

Thanks everybody.

I've been changing the profile following your comments and some comments from other forums.

This is beta 2 which the following changes:

  • Vastly improved color separation
  • Improved blues and reds
  • Improved foliage colors
  • Slightly less contrasty tone curve in the shadows

Remember this is not intended to be a neutral / flat profile.

Where did you find a D2x profile for the D800 and D800E? I thought they didn't go past the D700.

You can "steal" another camera's profile by using dcptool to modify the .dcp to point to your particular camera.

Thanks for the effort.

Somehow the D800E profile is clipping the shadows/blacks a little too much for my liking.

Yes, I know it's not a flat profile.

Are the reds, greens and blues ment to be color accurate (and hue and luminance for that matter), or is it the amount of saturation that is the goal?

Thanks again

Does it work on Camera Raw too? Or just LR only?

Re: Beautiful LR profile for D800 (included)

Anyone care to post a result to it? And does it work for LR4? Thanks!

Now a problem

I loaded the profile and it worked well.  Shut down CS6 to take a break.  When I came back the profile had disappeared.  It's still in the Camera Profile folder on my C Drive, but doesn't show up when I select Camera Profile in Camera RAW.

Any suggestions?

Doh!

My bad.  Just realized that the images I was trying to work with were taken with a borrowed D7100.  Profile works fine as advertised.

I have many profiles now, and this is one of my favorites.

Thanks!

Very similar...

The Beta 2 is extremely similar to the Huelight Standard V25 profile I use. It appears to be just a little darker. That is not a bad thing though, I love my Huelight profiles and use them as default when I start processing.

I'm loving this profile. In many cases I even prefer it to the one my passport color checker generates.

Can you provide more information as to how you generated it? I'd like to try and create one for my D3s.

Thanks for the info.  This is awesome.  Just tried dcptool and it works great.  This opens up lot's of possibilities.

Re: Beautiful LR profile for D800 (included)

I have been using DXO Pro and just started to use LR. I am looking to try our the D800E camera profile. I followed the instruction of pasting the file in the camera profile folder. Can someone be kind enough to let me know how to utilize the file? I have tried numerous searches for instruction however I still can not find it?

thanks,

greg
