It depends. If you prefer to shoot JPG only and rely on the in-camera conversion, then Fuji may be a better solution.

However, I would not recommend X-Trans to RAW shooters or those who spend a lot of time in post-processing.

Hmmm?? I'm a raw shooter and have really been enjoying my new Fuji X-E2 with X-Trans sensor. What am I doing that you wouldn't recommend?

Probably referring to early versions of demosaicing software. I don't mind new Lightroom/ACR with X-Trans, but the early versions were horrid.

Eric

The current (8.4) ACR/LR demosaicing for the X-Trans sensor isn't horrid, but it's still poor and I don't use it and wouldn't recommend it. But I stopped living in an Adobe-centric world years ago so it's fine with me if their software sucks.

I've switched from years of Samsung NX (100 &200 )with 16,30,50-200  to a fuji xe1 with 27/2.8 lens

I was very fond of my samsung but age was taking its tole and i prefered the build on the nx200 to the nx300 and felt i would be actually stepping backwards but switching to nx300 (personal opinion only, as i know to many people the nx300 is far superior)

I shoot everyday and like/love both systems,so no hidden agenda.

I just adore the xe1 its just nice to use and image quality is great, raw i use auto iso upto 6400 and  im as happy at 6400 as i am at 200.

Low iso samsung and fuji are equal as they are both faultless, tests and charts should always be ignored.

The af system on fuji is bloody awful after using nx im getting a crazy number of missed focus shots, which i can live with but it may drive some people insane. the nx body design is also more stable in the hand.

i would say it the main drive for you in photography is consistent good low iso images go with samsung. but if your drive is either the shooting experience or higher iso go with fuji.

keep in mind if you want a collection of lenses samsung will be cheaper but the quality of the fuji build is higher. Personally all my samsung gear is now in a bag under the stairs and im not missing it. but i wouldnt cry if i had to switch back to it.

Samsung lost me when they went a bit too gadget minded and the nx galaxy just made me feel so ill i had to get out of nx.

I know it doesn't help you, but Fuji addressed the slow AF problems with the X-E1 by adding dedicated PDAF photosites to the sensors in the X-E2 and new X-T1.

So, umm, what's the asking price on that gear ^_^?  PM me if you're willing to part ways with it on the cheap.

I agree that Fuji jpeg is superior to NX30 jpeg. LR5 does support NX30 RAW.

And what about NX processed RAW vs FUJI processed RAW ? I've only seen sample pictures from FUJI, and I've thought that with correct processing of pictures taken with a good glass (like a Samsung one), one can achieve about the same results. Adjusting colors is not hard, but it has to be done with care !

6400 ISO pictures from FUJI look nice, but they seem very processed and loose sharpness.  Don't you think a Samsung RAW could be processed to achieve something similar ?

Yes.
it is like saying you have a Canon T2 and a T4i will a D7100 be better for High ISO work
A NX30 will likely be just as functional as the new Fuji.
If you want to Change systems though, the Fuji system is nice if not a little short on Lens' but that will change.

I would agree with most of THERICKY's comments.. I have the X-T1 and just received the NX30 today. The initial NX30 IQ and shooting experience is exceptional. I shot my daughters engagement photos this weekend with the X-T1 and NX300 and found myself preferring images from the NX300 with 30 F2.0 the majority of the time. It was quite surprising to me. I will probably sell the X-T1 and 23mm as I prefer the Samsung image rendering. Manual focus with the NX30 is very good. Almost as good as the X-T1.

can you test the X-T1 more slowly?

NX30 continue being the winner undre your point of view?

thanks
