SEF-580A

Does anyone happen to know if this upcoming flash will be triggered optically or by other means such as radio? I just found out my trusty Yongnuo triggers that I have used forever do not work properly with the NX30. They work fine with the NX210 and NX300.

Re: SEF-580A

I think at least by radio, since the number of channels and groups is given in the specs. I'm not sure if it will by flash or not, but you can always buy some cheap optical triggers to help out with that.

Weird that the Yongnuos don't work with the NX30 for you, maybe give that another go for us to double check.  Are the pins not quite lining up now or something?

Has anyone posted this video on here before?

Re: SEF-580A

It is my understanding that the 580 flash can be triggered by the Nx30-built-in-flash, via a kind of "flash morse code".

But i do not have one of these.

I assume you have to dig into the operating manuals.

I tried a lot of different things to get them to work and while they do fire they don't contribute to the exposure. The triggers require the same adjustment on the NX30 as they did on my NX210/NX300.

Try disabling the electronic first curtain shutter, it might be too short for shutter lag or might not trigger the same way.  Also try different trigger modes (leading vs trailing curtain etc under flash menu).

Great suggestion, I gave it a try but no success. The timing is way off. I appreciated the suggestion Eric.
