TG-2 Experience.

Love this camera!
OK, so it is my first tough waterproof, so have nothing to compare it to. But for a total novice I am blown away by my results. Shot everything in Scene mode 'Wide 1' including video, and I am amazed at how good the results are. Both in and out of the water. Here is a picture of Wally - the resident big fish. I found framing hard as the fish moved so quickly. I guess you get better at this with practice.

It's Wally!

The white balance is amazing, underwater pics had excellent natural colour!

The camera can also be set to show how deep you were when the photo was taken, or how high up you were if you are on land. This does need to be calibrated before use though. This is as simple as standing on a beach and then using the calibration setting to set it to 0 meters. Easy.

I can't say enough good things about this camera. For it's price, size and ease of use - even for a first time snorkeller and first time user of underwater camera, I could not have asked for more!

Question for other users though - our red trim which is removable for adding the additional lenses fell off. May havew knocked it, but was surprised that this happened. Any one else experienced this? There was a spare black one in the box, so no major drama, just a bit sad to have accidentally littered the reef.

Any way - brilliant camera. I couldn't recommend it more highly!

It was great above the sea too!

View from helicopter!

Nice shots

Great shots ...I actually bought the TG-2 and returned it a while back and to this day think it's one of the most horrible choices of compact underwaterers ...but those are some beautiful shots you have. Nice work.

...as for the ring, yes, I've heard of many people losing them. You can buy a replacement if you really like the red, but not sure what the cost is.

Re: TG-2 Experience.

I have a TG-1 and lost the lens ring somewhere at Disneyland. No big deal however, as it doesn't affect the structural integrity of the camera.
