Crazybadger, I absolutely realized the irony of my adding the extra noise of my own opinions to the cacophony of G2X rumours in a new thread meant to criticize new threads. I am as hypocritical as the next guy.

Rumour mongering has ALREADY taken over most of DPR. But it's just a touch out of control concerning the G2X lately.

I understand the mods want to tread lightly with regard interfering but like you said, it is getting crazy around here. And hurts the forums because they become nothing but endless rumour threads. I understand people want to speculate but why not just put all the speculation in one thread.

Maybe they are right, as the old expression goes, even a broken clock is right twice a day. But as I said, (but seems to have sailed right over your head), no problem with speculation, just why the need for so many new threads all about the same rumour? Care to answer that question? Why the need for 7-8 threads all started to discuss the same picture from a rumour site? A picture which more and more people are now distancing themselves from.

Actually I'm waiting for the leather wrapped grip like the one I heard they are testing on the new 7DII. That and the new 3D image processor. Should be here soon I heard. Hummm maybe we should start another thread to discuss it?

Here we go again, only this time let's throw in a homework assignment instead of a simple poll.

Everyone: think of a camera you like. It doesn't matter if it's something you already have in your collection or used to own. It could be the latest model to his the store shelves. It could be a new model another company has just announced but not yet released full information. Heck, it can certainly be any camera that any website is rumoring to be just around the corner, regardless of how believable its specs are, or even just a camera you wish someone would make. Got it?

Now come back to this forum and start a new thread entitled, "How does the G1X-II compare to [insert camera name here]?" Be sure to include all of your rationale to explain why the G1X-II is superior or inferior to camera X. Don't be concerned that no one -- NO ONE -- has yet laid a finger on a G1X-II long enough to provide a non-marketing description or review, as may also be true of your camera X. Don't even bother stating what assumptions you're making about either camera or providing any references to your source material. This is more of a stream of consciousness product roundup, so it's more fun if we all either guess about those details, or feel free to rebut them with our own unfounded preconceived ideas.

OR, let's wait until the camera actually exists before deciding whether we and everyone else who will read this board should pre-order or completely cross it off the list. Wishful thinking? Yeah, I can be as impatient as the next guy, but come on.
