Mouse Birds and stuff from Cape Town.

I have been busy this week so not many birds. I did manage to get some mouse birds. These are more for behavioral display purposes than pictures. The birds where high up and obscured. I have mentioned before how these birds have their legs placed far forward for climbing. The tail is also a big counterweight and is also used for climbing. These birds are extremely ungainly on the ground. Their feathers are also more like a fur.

The others are left overs from de hoop .

E-30 and 90-250 ( Ran inside for a camera and it was the only camera with a long lens attached.)

White back Mouse bird feeding Juv. ( I was quite happy with tish crop as it less than 10% of the original. )

Another radical crop.

Re: Winter Birds

Hey Pam,

Were these with your 75-300? Very sharp! Did you use a tripod? If not, you have a steady hand! Well done.

Cheers
