You're a manufacturer..........off you go.

Why do you expect others to make your dreams.

I don't see much difference between that and a newer SD1 with live view.

I do what I'm capable and comfortable with without pretending that sky is the limit.

I dream my dreams just like you do. If you can stop the hurricane, let me know. That could be useful.

Since Sigma has said they are working on new cameras and not an ILC DP-M series you don't have to have an announcement to be pretty sure what is coming.

Wishing implies something is out of reach, not likely.

I'm not privy to insight info as you do, Kendall. So what is surely coming?

Quite contrary. At least when the bond between consumer and manufacturer is formed. I hope that you don't imply that Sigma's philosophy is limited to your view of the reality. I really do.

Your thoughts?

Would you like a Canon or Nikon mount with that ?

Exactly my thoughts

when I saw it.

I do hope that Sigma has greater aspiration and vision than what some suggested here.

I'm not privy to any more info than anyone else here is.  Remember I thought there would be something new camera wise at CES.

The Fuji does look like a sexy camera. My recollection when I handled a recent Fuji was that it felt very dense and businesslike.

But I sometimes come to think it is amazing that Sigma makes cameras at all. And not only that, but good ones, although a "niche" product because all they do is make really good images.

The problem for Sigma is that it has to leapfrog current technology a bit because it produces cameras infrequently, and thus its offerings sometimes appear, in a short while, as if they have fallen behind, even if they continue to work quite well. The market demands new.

Unfortunately it takes money to implement ones visions and aspirations.  We will learn more about Sigma and their new leader from the next camera which will be all his.  He knows what he needs.  At a minimum I would expect live view, faster processing, better battery life and better AF.  I would not expect video (asking too much given live view is {most likely} a higher priority),  nor bigger buffer. I would not expect much difference in ISO performance.  A lot of time and effort in this has been expended both by Sigma and Foveon and results have been so-so.   These things have been hammered home time and again.

I agree.  Sigma has demonstrated that with their lenses, coming up with unexpected and innovative products (18-35/1.8, 35/1.4 Art, lens dock).  Of course lenses are their core business, but their approach to camera bodies has been much less aggressive.

Reality is constrained to reality.

Reality is what is happening around us. Just take a look outside your Sigma bubble.

I am just a good observer of it and draw conclusions that make sense.

Right. Congratulations on your discovery.

Canon would be my preference but I would settle for SA mount happily if that's the only option.
