Nikon 35mm f1.8 + Df
1

Is this lens the perfect mate to the Df for street and general photography?

http://camera.itmedia.co.jp/dc/articles/1401/24/news037.html

I always have the LE 50mm f1.8 on my Df but this may tempt me for it provides for a slightly wider perspective

Cheers,

i'm really tempted to get this for my df since i like the 35mm perspective. i like the weight and size of this offering. we'll see what the reviews say about the image quality.

There is no 'perfect' or 'best'. Everyone is different. Some prefer a 50. Some a 35. Some an 85. Some a 24.

Thats looks like a nice combo.

Looking at the sample images in the article, the bokeh from the new 35 1.8 looks really nervous and distracting.  Hopefully, it is the sample set.

We shall see.

My observation too. Ugly bokeh. I guess they optimized it for sharpness?

The 2 samples I saw from Nikon had decent bokeh (in my opinion) but the bokeh in this set just look terrible… Hopefully there will be more samples to come.

Have a look at this one http://www.dpreview.com/products/nikon/lenses/nikon_35_2d/overview

Cheaper, less weight and..........no golden ring! Specs and reviews are also very good.

I use it on my Df and I like it.

Succes with your choice!
