Tamron 150-600 for Canon 70D or Nikon D7100.

I have both the Nikon D7100 and the Canon 70D. I can afford one Tamron 150-600. If it was your choice would you buy the Tamron for the Canon or the Nikon and why? Thank you.

It's all up to you. The lens will function the same on either camera. The real question is, which camera do you enjoy using more? Buy it for that one. Since you're asking on a Nikon forum, chances are our answer will be the D7100. But it's really up to your personal preference.

Nikon simply for the added resolution and Dynamic Range of the sensor so you can get the most out of that lens. D7100 focuses to -2ev vs -.5ev with the 70D so that may be a player.

My opinions are my own and not those of DPR or its administration. They carry no 'special' value (except to me and Lacie of course)

Thank you for your replies. I already owned the D7100 and received the 70D as a gift. I will have to sell one body but I am not sure which body will be best for the Tamron 150-600.

Extrapolation

Given that the actual IQ and quantifiable tests of the 150-600 is unknown, comparison of these two bodies with the Sigma 50-500 yield the following on DxO:

D7100 Score=14, Sharpness=10

EOS 70D Score =9, Sharpness=6

A stretch extrapolation I know, but quantifiable data.
