Now's the time to buy NX300

eBay prices on this thing are going through the floor. I was just congratulating myself the other day on getting a brown NX300 kit w/ 18-55 OIS III for $459...now I see the exact same setup is selling for $17 less and includes a 16GB card, case, etc.

If you're willing to go with a white 18-55 kit, it drops to $425 and the 20-50 kits go all the way down to $409 and $399, depending on seller.

That magic 6-9 month period wherein NX cameras drop to half of original price remains the MO, apparently. At least the NX100-300 line has, not quite so much with the NX10-20.

The time to buy started over 3 months ago when the NX300 started appearing with low prices for certain configurations. I posted that B&H (not alone) was selling brown body NX300s for $598 for the two lens (20-50mm & 50-200mm OS II) kits. The sale was supposed to end Oct. 19th and I suppose it did, but it started up again a couple of days later and lasted a long time, possibly into December.

IMO, the NX 300 is such a good camera, anytime is a good time to buy one, with the 18-55 III of course.
The quality and capabilities of what the NX 300 delivers makes it worth anywhere from the release price to a sale price, IMO.

Re: Now's the time to buy NX300

This is the trend of every nx camera till now. I bought my nx100 (with kit lens and sef15 flash) for 250€ and my nx200 (again with kit lens and sef8 flash) for 290€, both brand new and unused. I knew this when I bought my nx300 at launch (I mean I knew it would fall in price) but nevertheless I wanted to have it from day 1. So I paid 570€ for it with kit lens, something more than 8 months ago.

The rule for NX is this: if you don't need/want one immediately, wait for 6-12 months, and you'll save at least 30%.

Not every NX camrea. NX20 keeps it's price quite well after almost 2 years from release. At the same time fuji x-pro1 lost 2/3 of it's RSP (in UK).

NX20 might drop some now though, since it is it's direct replacement that's incoming.

Good time to pick one up as a spare body. I think I might retire my perfectly good and perfectly battered pair of NX11's.

I retired my working NX10 with the NX300 + two lens combination. Every aspect is much improved, IQ at high ISOs, AF speed, focus peaking, shutter response ...etc. However, I do miss the better balanced body and sometimes, the viewfinder...

NX20 with 18-55 kit costs 499$ at B&H at the moment. I don't remember the exact price when it was released but I thing it was somewhere around 850-900$. If I'm correct on that, than the drop in price is actually quite significant. And I believe that it will drop even more when NX30 starts to be shipped.
