E-M1 & 12-40/2.8, 75/1.8: Circus Oz, Darling Harbour, Sydney
2

Folks: Some pics taken at Circus Oz, all RAW converted to jpeg, no PP; I tried a few focus modes, but in the dark only S-AF coped. I dialled in quite a bit of under-exposure to reflect the true brightness under the big top, otherwise I let the camera do its thing in spot-metering, aperture-priority mode: auto-WB and auto-ISO just to see what it would do. The beauty of the EVF is that you can see the effects of the exposure parameters on the scene. The 75/1.8 and the grip make for a nice low-light rig. I would've liked to have tried my ZD35-100, but it was just too big to contemplate taking. All were taken either before the show or during the interval.

Cheers,

Rob

As you probably know, I LOVE circuses and have shot them on numerous occasions.

From your shots, I would say that this circus employs a contemporary and ironic take on classic acts.  That is always good and refreshing.

And I also see that unfortunately there were quite a few empty seats in the big top.

That is real shame : circuses offer unique entertainment and should be cherished.
