Hmm - camera shops in London seem to be closing by the hour. I can't think of any cheap ones - most people look at them in-store then buy them on the web. Currys / PC world carry Panasonic but very little Olympus and have occasional good deals but aren't permanently cheap. They sometimes have click and collect deals better than high street prices.

You could try SRS in Watford (OK not in London, but not too far out).

There's several at the south end of Tottenham Court Rd. They are sometimes open to negotiating and sometimes not. Cash rather than debit or credit card is always a good incentive.

Re: What are the best and cheapest brick and mortar shops in London for m43?

There's only 2 places that I've been to buy in London, Cameraworld and London Camera Exchange.  I've bought bodies from both, Cameraworld was genuinely the cheapest place to buy an E-PL2 anywhere in the UK about 2 years ago. And I got a very good deal on a used E-M5 with grip just before Christmas at LCE. Both good shops that definitely will earn your business from you and give you good moneys worth.

Not many places have the best range of m43 kit.  Bizarrely, I've found that airport shopping lounges have been good for having a wide range of cameras to play with.

Final option is one of the larger PC World/Currys, usually stock quite a lot of cameras and will have competitive prices.

The best one is SRS Microsystems in Watford. Tecnically that's not in London, but I can get there very quickly on a train from Euston. Despite working in central London I have made that journey a few times.

London Camera Exchange & Parks
1

Parks Cameras is new to London and I only know the Sussex branch which had a huge stock, were helpdful but my preference would be LCE I have exchanged and purchased new there, knowledgeable staff and competitive prices. Olympus demonstrated the EM-1there and you could hardly move ... It's not big ... But cozy

Park Cameras new store just off oxford St, Tottenham court Rd end or London Camera Exchange on the Strand. Both excellent and good stock.

Thanks

I've never come across some of those stores. Parks & Camera World both look excellent.

In north London, Watford, SRS Microsystems . I buy most of my stuff from them. Always keen prices, for example a GM1 with 12-32 for £579. I may go up and buy one tomorrow in fact.

I've got some good deals on Panasonic kit in ASK in Tottenham Court Road (they are also a Canon Pro Dealer, but don't sell Olympus). SRS in Watford have been mentioned. Camera World and Parks have shops just to the west of Tottenham Court Road and sometimes have good deals. The best deals are usually at shows.

Not sure how long ago you were in ASK but they do sell Olympus. I bought my EM5 there.

Park camera has only been open in London for a few weeks. That is why you have not heard of them before.

I agree - but London is a huge place and can take ages to traverse, and I don't think that the OP said whereabouts in London he was based.

I've had superb service from SRS and IMO well worth a 15 minute train journey from central London.
