Panasonic GX7 firmware from Japanese to English

I wonder if anyone knows the answer to this please?

If a Panasonic GX7 was purchased in Japan and had only Japanese menus, would it be possible to update it yourself with English firmware?

Sorry, no. Only possible when the GX7 is hacked and there is no hack (yet).

Never aware there is any software which can change the Japanese version Menu into other language for Panasonic cameras (M43 MILCs)...

I would avoid any sort of hacking. For other popular brands more people might contribute to the hacking so if there would be any bud it could have higher hope to be addressed easier. Little expectation for Panasonic on this.

Back to the gray market in the old days (older Panasonic models), if the camera is a Japanese local version, a booklet of English translated Menu name will be included.

I heard that for later models (not sure since which), Japanese local version models were in multi language already.

I bought it because I dont have problem with the GX7 in japanese, since I live since 2006 in Japan and I can read/write hiragana and katakana and some kanjis, then I can understand the 90% of the menu in japanese. But I want to give as gift to my nephew in latinamerica, and he dont understand japanese.

It is still a very capable camera. It was my main camera from 2015~2019. I loved its tiltable evf for low angle shooting.

By the way, the PTool it works fantastic in older models of panasonic from 2011 and 2010.

I am aware that there is a hacking software for older Panny models but mostly for PAL to NTSC etc. Not sure was it PTool or anything else. As per the Personal View web page, it supports quite old Panny models only.

AFAIK it couldn't turn back and some reports on problem with the software. I won't try it myself. YMMV. Thank you for the info anyway.
