Sony a7 with LAEA4+50mm f1.4
Pretty bright lens! I like it so far except for the size. The noise is night and day compared to the m43 OMD EM5 though but the AF is still slower even with the LAEA4. I missed focus a ton of shots of my son tonight.

The Zeiss 50 1.4 is a heavy lens with heavy glass elements to move around to focus. Of course it would be slower.
Never thought of that. This lens is a beast though, it has a 77mm filter so the glass is huge. I love the IQ it produces. I have some lovely kids photo (that I can't share though because my wife don't want them to be public).
@hin, I think the size with the laea4 is large but still comfortable to hold. It is not as heavy as the a99. To me this is not a traveling setup. I would suggest the FE 50mm f1.8.
I bought this on an impulse because of the lack of FE lenses in stores (I can't get shipping to my house because I'm hardly home to sign it). I will sell this one day and swap to the FE.
As you can see this is out of focus as they were walking away from me.
After shooting some bursts one or two will usually come out in focus.
Strange , i see child not OOF.
For First photo: i think you had problem OOF because christmas lights are very bad for AF (i tried with some led in my home and af have a lot of problem ).

Mr Ichiro Kitao, I support the call to upgrade the FZ50.
I will not only buy one but two no questions asked...
