Went for a little trip arond the valley yesterday and it.........................
3

Was misty. So I took some photo's with the SAMSUNG GALAXY NX.

The image above shows the village of Tonypandy. It is there, under a blanket of mist.

That is also the location of Tonypandy, in the photo below.

Here, below we have the village of Cwmparc. I'm afraid that you'll have to take my word for it at the moment.

Yesterday, heavy mist. Today it's throwing it down. For tomorrow, the Met office have informed us we'll have a change. They forecast snow. Well at least it should give me a chance to maybe show you Tonypandy, and Cwmparc in a different situation. We'll have to see what the roads are like, if we get snow.

that's quite an amazing set of images. You don't see that very often. That looks as thick as pea soup. I'd be lucky to find my way to the bathroom.

Ha, ha, thanks for the comment, as for finding the bathroom, if you're a female I'll hold your hand and guide you. If you're a male, I could always draw you a map.

Glad you liked the pics.

Here, another one from the same time yesterday. This one was also taken with a SAMSUNG GALAXT NX. and the 18-55m.m kit lens, only as you can see, a slightly different location. This was taken at Pen-Rhys cemetery. Here you can see the sun is starting to burn off the mist, as you can see it rising here, through the trees.

Thank you for replying. I;m glad you enjoyed them. I suppose they are not too shabby, for someone, "who knows nothing, about photography."

Well that's nice of you to say so, thank you. It's pretty around here in the summer, but an Autumn mist like this, gives a whole new perspective on things, don't you think?

I visited your web site too. I love that pic of the owl peeping around the tree. It's great.

yes, mist always give a new dimension on the landscape picture, as long you aren't right in it and the picture is just a soft white curtain.

Thanks! that owl is a great grey owl, on of the worlds largest owl. First when i saw it i sneaked around so he wouldn't care that i was there and once i while she looked at me in the eyes, but after i while i noticed that the owl didnt care about it so i walked closer so i was so close her so  70mm was i bit to long for a full body shot. Really a nice experience to see big owl hunting in so close.

That must have been a great experience for you, to have not only met up with, but to have got so close to one of the world's most efficent predators, wow. But that shot is really impressive. You should get that pinted out large, and  frame it on your wall.

I am wondering how the picture will look like if shot under HDR mode.

Anyway, although the sky over-exposed too much to my liking, it was still a great moment shot Allan. Thanks for your sharing.

Yeah it is overcooked, but if I dialed down the EV it looked to dark. I was, as the old adage says, "caught between the Devil and the deep blue sea." It is a SOOC jpg so I could do something with it in PPing it. It was all confounded by the mist.
