And already happy with my first try-out photo shoot, using off camera manual flash.

It's heavily compressed for email usage, but the RAW file - for a 16mp camera - is awesome!

Suffice to say, I'm a happy camper.

Nice photo but... If you don't mind me asking:

Why did you buy the X-E1 and not the X-E2? In my part of the world (the great white north), the X-E1 is only $100 less than the X-E2.

I'm getting the 'upgradeitis' and would like to get an X serie, but I'm waiting for a good sale (may be boxing day).

By all means, elfroggio, I'll do my best to answer. . .

Seems like FujiFilm downunder is not following trends from the north. I found a price difference of around Australian$400 and had to abide by she who must be obeyed when spending our cash, as I already own a substantial dSLR outfit.

I'm getting the 'upgradeitis' and would like to get an X serie, but I'm waiting for a good sale (may be boxing day).

From what I have read here on this forum so far, the only difference is that the X-E1 is a tad faster. That being what it is, and my photo habits stemming from film days, speed is not my number one concern. Picturing my grandkids and smelling the roses take up a large part of my daily life in my retirement.

Wonderful photograph.

Shows what the brilliant little X-E1 can do when in talented hands. Well done.
