X10 not creating RAW image
X10 arrived yesterday. NICE.
Kudos to DPReview - the go-to place for the straight skinny on digital cameras.
So - how can I get the camera to create a RAW image? Desire to make RAW image only ocassionally. In Setup Menu, selected RAW = off. Per Page 55 of User Manual, pressing RAW button should create both RAW and jpg for the next shot.
Instead, display shows 4x4 grid of icons for ISO, DR, WB, etc. Pressing shutter release takes creates jpg image only.
You have the latest firmware installed on your X10 - this turned the RAW button into a Quick Menu button. Fuji produced an addition the to the orginal manual.
You can download it here:
Raw can now only be switched on via the setup menu.....
Enjoy your new camera !
+1 to Derek's comment. To get a faster route to the raw menu you can also assign it to the Fn button. If you want the Fn button for something else, you can go to the raw menu under set up, and then use the back button to exit out. The next time you hit the menu button you'll be back there.
Got it. Thanks. Hadn't unsealed the Owner's Manual that came with the camera; had been working with the .pdf from Fuji's website while waiting for the camera to arrive.
The X10 sure is a little fella; dainty little buttons. But a lot of mojo! Hot shoe and optical view finder. What's not to like?
Also bear in mind that RAW is only available on P A S M and Auto.
There could also be some times when it is not even available then, but you can check the chart in the back of the manual (downloadable if it wasn't included) to see those.
