Old 8mm Video camera

I have got quite a few 8mm recorded tapes and a good working Hitachi digital8 cam.

I have got a USB card which can convert these tapes into AVI files.

Is there a portable device which can record directly from the AV output to flash memory from analog camera.

I would like to use the video camera since its image stabilization is great and has very decant zoom lens.

Looks like you are looking for something like this:

That said, being digital 8, shouldn't it have a firewire (DV) port for digital transfer?  You are going to lose a lot of quality going the AV-USB route.

Also, considering that this $130 Sony  is going to yield much better video, without all the transfer hassle, maybe it's time to upgrade?
