Help for deranged posters

Not sure what has happened but we seem to have acquired some very strange members and I wonder if there is help for them. What can be done for these poor sots?

As we know, Fox News and the Kochosphere employ people to promote their, for want of a better word, ideas on internet forums.  Presumably, each employee is allocated one or more forums, and, obviously, the smartest would get the New York Times and the next smartest CNN and so on down the line.  I don't imagine DPR is that high on the priority list at Fox, so we have got the work experience kids supervised by guys who were out of their depth on the Wisconsin Poultry Farmers' Association discussion forums.

Another option - and I think this applies particularly to the Princess - is that some at least of these "people" are actually computer programs.  That would account for the sense of total disconnection from reality you get reading their posts.

In either case I don't see why we would want to help them.

It's not about ignoring them, it's about enjoying them and their antics while at the same time striving to improve their lot, is it possible? Imagine this forum without all the character.

Maybe you could have Rob Ford talk them and teach them some social skills.

Not directly.  They employ PR agencies to do this and other 'astro-turfing'.  Deniability.

Well, I do wonder if some of these 'persons' are, in fact, real human beings.  And if they are institutionalised.  Some give the impression of being potentially dangerous to others.

Antics..... is that what you call some of these inane posts?

If this keeps up a lot of good people are going to tire of wading through this cesspool and just leave.

What do you think of this one, Henry, he's a doozy and quite entertaining at times although he does suffer from repetitive syndrome, posting the same gibberish constantly and never really contributing to the thread, nonetheless, entertaining.

That's easy for you to say, but I've had some good discussions here.

I don't think that's true. I've had some good discussions here.

I know it's not 100% true, but face it, there are much better places to go for good discussions.

An outcast forum, hidden away on an obscure website is not one of them.

the fact that we hang here and argue about the things we do pretty much indicates we are all a bit deranged - and if anyone here thinks they aren't that would indicate they are probably the worst.

Hi - My name is Ed and I have a problem. I actually think that if I post my views here enough others might start to listen and change

that was step one - - I will work on the other 11 later
