Roquefort, Stilton or  Wensleydale for themselves, Buffalo mozzarella in a salad and parmesan with Italian or a small bit on its own for a taste bomb!

Every cheese has it's place. Sharp cheddar would be my most commonly used cheese, but any other cheese I can think of is good depending on what you're having with it.

I agree, it depends on what you're putting the cheese on. I wasn't much of a cheese eater until I joined Costco, and eat the samples they passed out.

Has your Costco started selling a bunch of micro-brews? Between the cheese and beer selections... Heaven. Not even mentioning the electronics section. I love that place.

Crap, did I just Spam?

The best cheeses are without doubt English, Canadian and French.

Stilton and English local cheddars are fantastic, however Canada actually tops the World cheddar charts with Balderson's 5 year extra aged and Black Diamond 5 year old Cheddar....which are the two that I always buy.

Those two are exceptionally good...with Armstrong's Premium 5 year aged cheddar from Quebec being a close third...with the UK brands.

The French make wonderful cream cheeses with Boursin of course being one of the best.

Dodoni Feta from Athens, Greece is by far the best feta cheese and I buy that from local importer for our Greek salads and Spanikopita dishes, etc. It's now $45 per kilo - but well worth it.

Can somebody here please tell me what's the fascination is with "Monterey Jack" cheese on this continent.?

I have never found one with any real taste. I've tried many different kinds, with jalepenos, herbs, etc...but they all simply have hardly no taste and it's just like rubber

Not really a beer drinker, but I don't think they have the election that they do at some other locations. A heck of a lot of wines though. Aren't the largest seller of wines in the country?

I know they buy 50% of the world's cashew production.

Oh, there is one kind of cheese I don't like- D*CK.

Besides those cheeses which are kept in flimsy wooden boxes to prevent them from running off the dinner table, I like most cheeses, with a soft spot for old brittle gouda cheese with cumin seeds.

All kinds

All kinds for different uses. For just eating, probably smoked Gouda. On spaghetti, graded Parmigiano-Reggiano. On a cheeseburger, probably grated cheddar. Spread in crackers, I might eat some of those stinky soft French cheeses.

Why do you ask?

Cheddar is the biggest selling cheese worldwide; perhaps because it's very versatile as an ingredient. Good for unpretentious cheese sauces.
