Panasonic Lumix LX7 dash lines on over exposed areas?
I've recently bought a Lumix LX7, so far all is good except one thing. In high contrast scenes, when a spot or area is over exposed some dashed lines appear on those areas only instead of just being a really white spot. I've never seen anything like this in any small portable camera I ever had.
Any ideas if the problem is the camera or just a something inherent to the particular model?
Here are two examples, please just look at the bright spots in the sky:
Yes, very odd. I think I will return the camera. I already tried with different apertures, ISO settings, etc, to no avail.
Thanks for your reply.
I would replace it with another. it's a fantastic camera.
Then again, being punished that badly for blowing your highlights just might turn you into a better photographer!
If a blow a highlight with a mobile phone it will not add those lines. That is the point, not my skills.
It was just a bit of [attempted] humour on my part Motonet. I wasn't criticizing your skills.
I think if it is blown highlights it would flash, streaks, no idea.
