I really liked the socks
2

The rest is a bonus and without the socks I would have made it b&w.

As always... original size wonder when the uploading IQ will improve.

Re: I really liked the socks

Nice socks.. They kind of match the knapsack. But that sure doesn't look like a friendly expession on her face.

Well captured as usual Dov.

Nice photo.  Love the details in the stones.  Socks do make the picture though.

Re: I really liked the socks

No offence but I really hate the image & find it pointless & sloppy & totally lacking intimacy & as a viewer, it lacks my interest & only instills an emotion of sadness for those less fortunate & causes me confusion as to why the image even exists, other to exploit others & make the image so meaningless that your focus is on the socks. It is baffling to me as to why you simply didn't compose an interesting image of the socks & a second & better image of the people. Just not my taste I guess, but it also lacks any real composition or technique to make it interesting to ME. It is to me simply a sloppy snapshot that would either never been made or certainly hit the delete button. But I guess that it shows you trying at least. I just don't think that you should have published it. My 2 cents.

Cariboo, he took the picture because it interested him, had it not turned out as he saw it he would have deleted it, it costs nothing to fire away and sometimes you hit the jackpot, you should try it sometime when you get that chip off your shoulder.

Re: I really liked the socks

Sorry John, I wasn't aware that only pats on the back were allowed. I did cheer him for trying and felt that my opinion and not sugar coating of what was to me a bad image and caption was constructive. At least I commented more than "Good work Ol' Chap".

I also didn't pronounce anyone else with a chip for liking the image. Sheesh!

The caption was just humorous and meant to draw attention and a smile. Obviously we differ in regard to the value of the shot showing a piece of street life. Appreciate your view and opinion.

Re:good one Doto

I thought it was sad and had a bit of humor and actually did make a comment about her plight. Good catch!

Re:perhaps, maybe...

you could post examples of your work to enlighten us. I really don't have a problem with you stating your opinion but perhaps you could do it with a bit of restraint?

This was taken in Amsterdam about a month ago, it was quite cold, glad you like it.
