If i understand correctly..they are all jpegs...and the only raw file from the GR is an in-cam conversion...

Problem is that the DP1M files are not processed correctly.

If there is one thing i learned, specially from this forum, is: do you your own experiments, do not trust other peoples experience regarding cameras. As for dpreview, i trust them and IR, a website that shoots under the same condition, the same scene for years now. And you can download their files and process them to taste

Here we have jpegs from two cameras and the GR has a wide converter!!! its pretty clear this is not a proper comparison.

BTW, what settings dpreview did wrong? thanks.

Thanks for the comparison.

The DP1M files are underexposed compared to the GR. Was that by choice?

Would you be willing to make some ISO 800-3200 B&W comparison samples? Would need RAW development though.

I have not learned how to use SPP properly, I need to sit down and really go through the different settings and options in SPP(and how the files behave when I edit them). When I used my SD-14 I only used SPP on good images(so that means rarely).

The pic of the boat is normal/non edited.

@Carlos, both cameras have the wide angle converter on.

Sigma DP1M With a 14,25mm (21mm FF equ.)

Here's a Norwegian DP3M test:

It is not worth reading though. Well, perhaps it is funny to read in English , but reading the original only confirms that the site is not about photography only specs.

Thanks for telling me, my bad ...somehow you moved, didnt you?

it seems that with the sigma you managed to have focus on infinity (even with the focus point where you said) but not with the GR...i wonder why...

anyway, thanks for your samples and i hope you didnt mind me for saying you dont need a GR for your style of shooting...  maybe its because i wish i had these both cameras too...
