Wifi module available too

This must be the "Fusion" part!

Attach the optional WU-1a Wireless Mobile Adapter and instantly share your beautiful photos. Connect to the Nikon Df with a compatible smartphone or tablet, then use it to browse your camera's memory card, import your favorite photos and even see what your camera sees and fire the shutter!

Looks like a glorified D610 with a $750 price premium. Aside from the styling, what features make it worthy of spending nearly 50% more than a D610 for the camera?

wth.. at that price, just get a D800

Too much, you can get a D800 for that price... far better AF and metering system. Bigger battery. Video too. Body is just as easy to use. For the cost of the body and throwaway kit lens, you can get the D800e.

wth is Nikon thinking???

The build quality is probably better.  Why do people buy special editions of cars and trucks?

For some people, 36MP is too much.  This is a perfect replacement for the D700.

ahh.. that explains no D4/800 AF and metering

If they went the "D4 in a D800 body" route (like the D3/700) .. they would have cannibalised sales of the D4. Do, you get the sensor, but, not the performance. Sounds like Nikon is run by bean counters. Geez.

It has better colors than D800, it is easier to use as you do not have to remember all the menu buttons, uses old lenses.  But it has less pixels and no video. A choice to make.

I agree. Then again, a refurb'd Canon 6D sells for $1,215 and has almost identical High ISO performance as the D4 (D4 has 1/4 stop SNR advantage, same High ISO DR). Color retention on the D4 is nicer though.

What's with build? This is built just like a D610

If you replace the D600 you will be spending money to downgrade.

Although the link above works, a search of "Nikon Df 16.2 MP CMOS FX-Format Digital SLR Camera Body (Silver)" does not find the listing.
