Tough? The LCD is not recessed in any way so any attempt you make to protect it against grit and clumsiness are thwarted as any screenie will catch and peel off the first time you holster it at speed. The silly red ring around the lens fell off the first time the camera was taken out in anger. The only upside this is that you can then buy a $5 knock off of the RN-T01 lens adapter which will keep you middle finger out of the way of the lens when wearing gloves (which WILL happen otherwise, hand grip is a joke). The waterproof seals seem good but it lacks the feature that every so called tough camera (not just Oly) seems to lack, a big clunky lock button that you can force into its "OK, I will remember" position once you have set the camera the way you need and it stays like that even after switching off/on. Which brings me to this cameras absolutely inexcusable fault. It restores the flash to "On" when you turn it on. Every single time. Even with the dial in so called "custom" C1 or C2 mode. Too many lost shots. Ugh, just ugh.

I just got one of these (firmware 1.0), and the flash does not reset to 'on' when the camera is switched off then on. I've got the mode dial in aperture priority mode, if that helps.

Just yesterday I was walking down the street when I saw a bunch of Rainbow Lorikeets messing about in a tree, and I was all like "for crying out loud, can't I even walk 100 meters without encountering something I have to take a photo of!?". It really, really annoyed me. So yeah, I know what you mean.

Share some of your xperiences... lost the bling ring as well... without being tough... and it came out of the factory broken.... and it broke down even more during the first week... so tough it ain't.
