Re: And you were hiking there?

Hiking and driving. Took a drive around the lake and periodically stopped at interesting places and went for short hikes looking for interesting photo opportunities. Of course the government made it challenging by closing all the gates to National Forest access points as part of the shutdown. Even locked all of the restroom facilities. On one trail someone had even locked a metal container for people to dispose of dog waste with a notice taped to it citing the government shutdown as the reason. Truly absurd. Fortunately they couldn't stop us from enjoying the scenery or taking photos.

Glad you liked the photo. Its currently my background image on my computer and I'll most likely print and frame this one.

Regards, Conrad

Re: Rawai sunset

Like the way you caught the light shining through the waves in the foreground, echoing the light on the horizon.

Great light on those waves Peter.  You get a lot of use out of that monster lens.

Small rainstorm over an empty lake, Grand Teton

Sometimes you find a surprise when you're working on your photos after a trip. I took this as a documentary shot so when I got home i could show my husband how horrible it was that the water from Jackson Lake in Teton NP had been sold to Idaho. But when I came upon it yesterday while working through those photos, I saw that the empty lake bed was beautiful in its own way, so I thought I'd share it.
