Re: Jaray NX lens adapter for Nikon lenses to NX mount

Thank you very much for your post!

I am already a proud owner of NX300, too. I also bought the same NX-mount adapter for Nikon lenses (Just to have a wider choice of lenses in future. At present I use the NX 45mm f1.8). Unfortunately I haven't had the opportunity to test it yet, but even if I do so, I may not understand right away all the pros and cons of using non-NX-mount lenses, being new to photography.

Please, explain what functionalities will be lost in such a lens-adapter-body combination, which ones could be remedied and by what means.

Thanks!

I would like to know if the focal length and the angle of view change when using this adapter. Thanks!

I was told by the seller, they has customers told them lens adapter does not work on NX1000 camera.

It was due to the lens detection proximity switch/button inside the NX1000 lens mount position slightly different from others NX camera thus caused "No lens" error and camera wouldn't take any shots.

Anyway, I've just re-checked with the seller, their NX1000 customer tested an alternate way to use this lens adapter. They use a small cardboard jamming the lens detection button and it work normal. Doing this the "No lens" error disappear.

Although I don't see any big deal or problem by doing that, as the cardboard can be removed easily, but it is at individual risk doing the switch jamming. Anything go wrong might just void the camera warranty.

I'm skeptical that this is actually an NX1000 issue because it is something that has been seen with various adapters and various NX bodies. I have generally put it down to variance in manufacturing of the adapters. We've also seen other sellers blame the cameras for their products tolerance issues, in particular with the JJC TTL off camera flash cord (they claimed NX300 and NX10 don't work, see here: http://www.ebay.com/itm/JJC-New-FC-NX-TTL-Off-Camera-Flash-Cord-for-SAMSUNG-NX-NX11-NX20-NX1100-NX1000-/261322653281?_trksid=p2054897.l5658  but it does work with my NX300) after some customer complaints. Maybe someone that owns an NX1000 and another NX camera could do some measurements for us, but NX mount has specs it should meet, and so does the NX hotshoe.
