anyone have more then one merrill
You'll enjoy them.
I have the DP1 and DP3 Merrill cameras. I have the two for the different focal lengths, but if I had to say which one I use more it's probably the DP3. I just love the long lens. It lets me be a bit farther away from my subject. The DP1 always surprises me, however. It's often wide enough for most everything when you're close to the subject. I don't know if I've ever wished I'd have a 24mm equivalent or wider.
or have you used more then one model what one gives the best results ? what one do you use the most if you own more then one thanks in advance i will purchase one tonight
Three - SD1, DP2M & DP1M.
Almost without exception, I get the best results from the SD1M. The colours & contrast are almost always better with it, no matter which lens I use.
Since each DP*M model has a different (fixed) focal length you need to examine which one has the angle of view that best suits your photography.
Ya, DP2m DP3m SD1m They're all good depending on your needs. What do I use most? My SD15 with a 50 1.4 lens goes with me every where. The DP uses batteries about 1 for every 36 shots and no flash. All the M series have large file.
The job picks the camera but the SD15 or one of them fits the bill most of the time. The SD1 for the studio DP's for out walking around. SD14 just for fun to play with.
I have DP2 and 3M. I can't choose between them, they are both incredible, the '3' is just fantastic for flower and insect shots but is also nice for tight angle landscape shots. Interested to here comments about the SD1M being better than the DP's. If that were the case I might seriously consider one with a 300 f2.8 tele.... Droool...
... my usage is DP1M > DP3M > DP2M.
But as others have said, this is mostly due to personal preference.
I am a wide-angle/landscape/city-scape guy, therefore I use the
DP1M most often. The DP3M gets a gut workout for macros and
flowers. I use the DP2M as necessary in cases where the DP1M or
DP3M do not work.
