The new AF is incredibly better than K5.
Double Sd slot, and many more improvements.

Preparing for another Q/Q10 --> Q7 type of sensor transformation?

For sure, saving resources using the same body for different purpose, or sensors. If the body is great I don´t mind at all.

Nothing to start wetting your innerwear about, IMO, if, remotely, true. As well, how truthful of a rumour can it be, if DPR didn't run with it

yes, the outside is certainly... unexciting

But if it's as rumored, I'll be buying one.  If it has tracking AF now, I'm doubly stoked.

I found below the lowest shelf in the wardrobe behind a row of shoes is a good place for concealment.  I kid you not!

After a year of this, I confessed, took a bashing, but now all is above board and relationship on a sound footing again .

Nyah nyah, my partner actually said to me that she thinks I should get a newer camera.  And our last major expense was a car that was all her idea, not mine.

I think you have a better chance of getting a date with Miss. Universe than you will have of buying a Full Frame Pentax within the next 3 years.

It is obviously a fake, because it does not have a chimney.

It sounds like five years from now, 2012-2014 will be remembered as the time when the industry started transitioning to full frame in a big way.  If the K-3 really does have that dramatic an improvement in autofocus, and dual slots and the rest, it might be seen as Pentax's last really major crop-sensor upgrade.  There won't be that much more that future models can add within the segment.

Roger

the viewfinder is bigger!

and the grip does look more like the K5-Limited, but it's not it: the IR sensor is recessed on the L because of the thicker grip. Not the case here.

Looks like the grip will be the same as the K5 grip!

If they make a silver one, it might be able to slip into my bag undetected by the local authorities! Heh heh!

The grip is a little bit different and not the style of K-5 limited, more than the standard grip, but better.

I was thinking the same about replacing my white K-r for the new (white too of course) K-50.

Because of recently announcement, I´ll start saving for the K-3 to get it at the 2° half of the 2014

Replace wife !

replace?in red,silver,black,blue or green body????

I thought of replacing mine with a more stylish French model .... better body, less demanding, yet infinitely more alluring with a certain oh la la charm ... and less inclined to discover my LBA addiction ...

Same here. But I need a battery grip - will this take the same one as the K-7/K-5/K-IIs?

(Which would imply the same battery, perhaps. I have a number of batteries for those cameras).

It all boils down to the sensor wand what it does, no news on new SAFOX and the 40Mp capabilities, well I put that down to wishful thinking.

And to be honest an upgrade to  27 af sensors, all cross and all tracking  seems to be a bit too much  alll of a sudden.
