I got my FZ70 this afternoon. Have taken about 20 shots so far. Here's a moon shot taken several hours ago. Try to view it at 100% if you can. I used auto contrast and sharpen in Photoshop Elements.

It looks pretty good to me. Have fun with that zoom.

very nice, how do you like your new cam?

I like this camera. It's not the great sports camera that the FZ200 is. It handles similarly to the FZ47 I had several years ago. The wide angle 20mm setting is useful though there is visible geiometic distortion. It focuses pretty fast in ok to good light. If I were a private investigator, I might use this camera in my car on surveillance jobs.

I you are an absolute pixel peeper and blow everything up to 100% and beyond, don't get this camera. Get a DSLR. Be prepared to pay a lot, though and don't expect to get a good 600MM F/4 lens for less than an arm and a leg. Even the Bigma (Sigma 50-500mm) lenses are over $1,500 new.

I think it's a good deal for the price ($399 and under in the US).

So, I, too, wish there were an upgrade to the FZ200. However, I can be quite happy with this camera for the time being.

Thank you, please post more shots. The reach at that price is super deal.

I will attach four pictures. All were taken yesterday. The first two were taken from the top of the parking garage at the school where I teach. The city you see is Seattle from a distance of about 8 miles (as a crow flies). The first picture was taken at 20mm, the last was taken at 1200mm. Both were handheld. EXIF data should be displayed.

HI!

I just took a moon photo with my FZ150, and honestly came out better and bigger than yours. I don't want to bashing yours at all, actually I am planing to buy the FZ70. Did you use the Intelligence Zoom? Mine does 62,4X zoom at 3mp, how is yours? My other option would be a Sony HX300, do you know if Sony has Izoom?

Nice moon shot. TFS.

Well, Attila,

Your moon is sharper, for sure. However, I don't know if it's bigger. Click on the image, and then click on "original image". It's huge. There is a beautiful moon out there tonight. I will see if I can get a better shot.

OK, just got back. I will give you three shots. Two were shot at 60X zoom (1200mm) - handheld.

The big image was shot at 120X zoom, which means it's like a crop. Unfortunately, I just realized that the two smaller images were shot at ISO 200, not 100. I only sharpened the images in Photoshop Elements.

OK, I finally got an image at ISO 100. It's on the bottom. I used auto contrast and sharpen on it in PSE. It's slightly sharper. However, yours is great, - very sharp, lots of details. Pretty impressive!

Good morning!

I didn't want to criticized your photo at all, I was thinking loud, because I don't know what to do :)

I really want the FZ70, and want to get best 1.7 X with the right adapter. I need that big zoom for UFO hunt ;)

I don't know should I buy the LT55 or Tcon17 or Olympus B300 or the Nikon Nikkor AF-S TC-17E 1.7X???

Honestly I was hoping to find somebody here , who using a Canon 1.7X or 1.5 , because all my other lenses with my DSLR cam is Canon, so I could use for different applications.

Can you guys help me out please?

I have the TCON-17 and think it's ok, but not great. There is some dropoff on image quality when used with an FZ200. I would go for the LT55 if I had to pick, because it's made by Panaonic and my cameras are Panasonics.
