Kx & DA 50-135 @ Port Douglas.
A few photo's from a recent trip for a wedding at Port Douglas, North Queensland, Australia.
This is one of the gateways to the Great Barrier Reef and I also posted a few shots from the WG-2 in the compact forum (including underwater).
The Kx has been my mainstay up till now and the day i flew out, I purchased a mint used DA*50-135 and a Sigma 50 f1.8. (A K5IIs, DA12-24 and Sigma 17-50 awaits me at home upon my return home next week) These were all with the Kx and 50-135.
I have trouble uploading from work, so without boring people with too many shots, here's a selection from this beautiful small port town.
Really great shots. I've been thinking about getting this lens, but not sure I want to lug it around. How did you get on with carrying this thing around on a trip?
No trouble really. I came from film days and kind of expect that a quality lens is going to weigh a bit. This trip meant that most other lenses stayed at home because I did some background detail shots for the wedding, so it was my lens of choice and I just dealt with it.
It is a decent weight and perhaps some will find it an issue. It's no travel zoom like the 18-135, I guess it comes out more so for weddings, portraits and specialised work........
Some people opt for compacts and Nex's, other tourists will happily lug around a FF ???
Thanks and absolutely, a very beautiful part of Aussie and a very laid back place to visit with plenty of photo opportunities.
Fine shots with great colour compositions Robert.

I fell in live with the 16-50 as well.
Love the colours & Scenes.
It is better to keep your mouth closed and let people think you are a fool than to open it and remove all doubt.
