Fascinating interview with Thomas Knoll of Photoshop fame

A candid video interview with the co-creator of Photoshop. Starting with the birth of Photoshop to the controversy with the Adobe Creative Cloud is touched upon. This was filmed in June 2013. Thomas Knoll hinted then about a better Creative Cloud pricing model specifically for photographers who may only use Lightroom and Photoshop. I think the recently announced $10 a month subscription rate for both is the fruition of the hinted at discussions.

The new deal may be attractive to some but many will still shun it thinking that after some , as yet unspecified ,  interval prices will start to escalate ?

I don't like the turn to subscription pricing at all.
One time pay or forget it.

I'll have to agree with others.  I prefer to pay for a perpetual license vs a subscription even though the new rate sees really good.  Change isn't always welcome.

Interesting interview. Thanks for posting.

One of the major inconvenient of moving to subscription mode, for me and maybe many others, is that you will have no choice but to upgrade your hardware to cope with an ever increasing demand on processor, video card and RAM (instead of a step by step progression that can be synchronized with hardware updates on an interval chosen by the user). So much shorter life cycle for hardware, and additional hidden costs.
