Better than the twin lens kit

I purchased this as the standard lens with my 7D. Although quite a heavy combination, it provides a very usable walk around combination. I only swap it out for the 10-22mm occasionally. After several year however and having seen the results of some of the prime lens I think the results from the  18-200mm are a little soft but post processing can boost that without too much trouble. It does however fully extend whenever facing down so you either have to remember to lock the lens in using the conveniently place lock or just be careful. This will inhibit its use in a tripod as gravity will soon take over as the lens tips down.

Re: Better than the twin lens kit

The thing you haven't mentioned in this review is what makes it better than the twin lens kit - anything more than the fact you don't have to change lenses?
