Any NX lens will work with the NX1000, ASAIK.

You can fiy almost any lens, from almost ANY DSLR to an NX camera with a cheap camera mount adapter, available from varoius places on the internet. I have just bought one from Amazon marketplace to just what you are asking about. I own a Samsung GX10, which is the prior model to the GX20. But these DSLR's were made in a partnership between Samsnug and Pentax, so the lenses are in fact Pentax mounts. So after purchasing the correct adapter, almost any Pentax lens can be mounted to an NX camera,

the GX20 is basically a Pentax K20 and uses a different Mount type. Using a P-K Adapter  would allow to use them but there is no electrical contact hence no AF and limited metering capabilites (A/M works)

No. You will not be able to use NX lenses on the Samsung/Pentax or any other DSLR. There are no adapters available for that purpose. Even if there were, most NX lenses use fly-by-wire focusing which means they need two-way electrical communication with the camera in order to focus. Just turning the focus ring does nothing unless that communication exists. There would also be no way of controlling the aperture as it is also electronic.

Yes, you can buy adapters to use most brands of DSLR lenses on an NX camera. You will have to focus manually and set the aperture manually. Avoid lenses with fly-by-wire focusing such as some of the Olympus models. The easiest lenses to use are those with manual aperture rings. Otherwise you need an adapter that has a lever or slider for aperture control. Such adapters are available for use with Pentax, Nikon and Canon lenses (and possibly others) but setting the aperture this way involves some guesswork. A dedicated aperture ring is more precise and more convenient.

Re: samsung DLSR support NX lens?

thanks

meanwhile i decide to buy NX 50-300mm, that i read is an ok lens...

actually my nikon lend are quite old and are AF without stabilization, searching on ebay they don't seem to have a great value

my nikons lens:

- AF 24mm f 2.8 is a good lens but i would like something wider like NX 16mm

- AF 50mm f 1.8 good one but i'm pretty lazy and don't really use it

- AF 35-70mm f 2.8 my favorite lens, is also macro

- AF 70-210mm f 4 (not sure) i don't really like it, no stabilization and not even sharp

actually i read good review about NX 16mm

but for other lens, and a macro i may buy a nikon adapter

The Samsung GX20 and Pentax K20D are nearly 6 years old now; ancient by digital camera standards. If you are buying something today I would look at NX system and give the GX system a pass. The NX system is completely unrelated to old GX system as others have mentioned. If you are interested in a DSLR system look at Pentax/Canon/Nikon/Sony/etc.

If you do buy a GX camera, look at what Pentax-Ricoh offer for K mount and it will be compatible. So if you found a really good deal on a GX20 you could always "grow" into a Pentax K mount later. GX is dead as far as Samsung is concerned.

As for the Pentax K (Samsung GX) to NX adapter, this is really only a good idea if you already have older Pentax K mount lenses you want to be able to use on the new camera, but in almost every case you would be better using the new lens.  For example the old Pentax 12-24mm f/4 is fine, but the Samsung NX 12-24mm f/4-5.6 is a bit better or at least similar optical performance, smaller, cheaper, etc.  So there wouldn't be much reason to get the old lens if you didn't already have it just to use on the new camera.  Same is true with 18-55, 50-200mm, etc.

Eric

Re: samsung DLSR support NX lens?

I'm worried that in a few years Samsung will abandon NX cameras and I find myself with NX optics unusable.

(I'm afraid the oil reserves will run out in 50 years, then my car will be unusable.)

Even if Samsung discontinues the NX line (not likely), the existing cameras and lenses will be still functional, they won't be shut down from Samsung headquarter.

Buy them and take good photos. Of course, you have to decide first what lenses you want to use.

Don't worry your optics wont disappear nowhere nor your NX camera wont take worse photos if Samsung decides one day to abandon NX cameras.

Well, if you buy into Samsung NX Camera System, all NX lenses are universal among the Mirrorless CSC and DSL cameras. It mean you are at least much safer and much less risk when compare to,

1. Canon EOS-M camera and it EF-M mount lenses, which are not compatible to Canon very own APC-S, FF DSLR cameras with either EF-S or EF lens mount.

2. Sony camera lens mount are not any better than Canon with their E-mount, A-mount and continue to struggle with many Carl-Zeiss, G, DT, non-DT series lenses.

Re: samsung DLSR support NX lens?

Well, a nx300, which is a great camera today, won't disappear in the future nore become a bad camera, just because other newer models will come out in the meanwhile...

Of clurse I hope samsung will be committed to nx for the time being, but in any case it'll remain a very good and quite complete system for many years.
